Safaris are exciting, sure, but they’re also extremely dangerous and can pose serious fatality to life. Driving to the wild, it’s important to keep knowledge of what’s best to do and what’s best to keep off from.

Everybody loves a tour in the wild. However, a tour in the wild could turn tragic if the necessary precautions are not taken. Below are some tips that can help you enjoy your wildlife vacation without being attacked by animals.

Keep calm

When faced with a close encounter with an animal, one should remain calm and not make noise. This is because animals can sense when one is afraid or excited. Consequently, they also feel threatened and therefore attack.

Avoid being alone

Statistics show that most people who have been attacked by wild animals during a tour were told by an expert to stay in groups beforehand, but decided to wander away. You might need to take this instruction more seriously.

Avoid carrying food with a strong smell

When camping in a wild park, do not take food with pungent smell since the smell draws the animals closer. In this case, consider carrying packed food.

Be sure to carry a flashlight

Animals tend to fear light and therefore avoid it. Light a flashlight while on a night safari. Alternatively, you could also light a fire close to your tent to keep the animals away.

Do not feed animals

Feeding animals is not advisable because animals may seem friendly at first but later attack. Moreover, it also makes animals dependent on this food and therefore stops hunting for their food, which in turn leads to starvation.

Do not go close to the animals.

Maintain a safe distance, especially if you want to take a picture of the animal. Do not approach animals but let them approach you. Be patient. Entering the space of an animal could alter its behaviour.

Wear clothes with friendly colours

Stay away from mothers with their young ones

This is because they are overprotective and easily feel threatened. Therefore, they are always ready to attack.
