Caprese, the Italian restaurant on Level 18, has introduced a new menu with inspired and traditional flavours from Sardinia, Naples, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Sicily of Italy.

Overlooking the scenic Bangalore Palace and capturing city views, Caprese, the Italian restaurant on Level 18, dishes out exquisite and tempting delights fit for the ultimate gourmands and Italian aficionados. Chef Ashok Bandaru and his culinary talents has crafted a brand new menu for an unparalleled fine-dining experience.

“The new menu is a rendition of my culinary expedition to Italy while discovering various traditional flavours. We perfect each dish with high-quality ingredients, either hand-picked locally or imported and bring a new gustatory experience to our patrons,” says Ashok Bandaru, Executive Chef, Shangri-La Bengaluru.

The menu features a selection of Antipasti including the signature La Caprese (Heirloom Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella Salad topped with Balsamic Pearls), Capesante (Hokkaido Scallops with Calabrian Orange, Salmon Roe and Charcoal Foam) the classic Italian favourite – Fiori Di Zucca (Zucchini Blossom Fritters), Asparagi Verdi (Peruvian Green Asparagus with Parmesan Butter Sauce and Boiled Egg) and much more.

Zuppe (Soups) comprise of the noteworthy Zuppa Di Pesce Pugliese (Pugliese Seafood Stew) and Ribollita (Cannellini Beans, Black Kale and Seasonal Vegetable Soup served with Ciabatta). The Primi and Secondi Piatti present handpicked choices such as Spaghetti Ajo e Ojo (served with Black Garlic), Ravioli Granola (Crab-based Ravioli served with Champagne Cream Sauce), Tagliatelle Al Tartufo (served with Norcia Truffles and Pecorino Cheese Sauce), Pollo Al Ginepro (Chicken with Juniper Berries and served with Herb Polenta), Agnello (Lamb with Almond Couscous), Cassola (Sardinian Lobster Stew), Gamberoni Alla Busara (Jumbo Prawns with Pinot Grigio, Saffron and Rain-fed Tomatoes) and much more.

The re-designed menu also boasts handcrafted selections of Artisanal Pizza served piping hot from the in-restaurant stone oven. Choose from Margherita (Served with Mozzarella Di Bufala) to Quatrro Formaggi (Four Cheese Pizza), Bismark (Served with Fried Egg and Mozzarella), Tartufata (Served with Truffles and Porcini Mushrooms), Diavola (Served with San Marzano Tomatoes, Pepperoni and Mozzarella), Pizza Alla Nutella (Served with Ice Cream) and more. The highlight of the selections is the Pizza Con Patate (Potato Pizza) inspired by Chef Ashok Bandaru’s culinary voyage to Rome, where this pizza is considered a delicacy.

With regard to desserts, the culinary team has curated a range of Italian classics including Sicilian Cannoli, Campania Limoncello Torta Caprese, Piedmontese Amaretti Panna Cotta, Gelato e Sorbet, I Fromaggi and last but not the least, the signature and the famed – Veneto Tiramisu. Guests can now perfect their Insta-worthy captures with ‘The Caprese Instagrammable Dessert’, a larger-than-life Dolce. This theatrical display of dessert art is immaculately presented on an acrylic-lit board and can be reserved with prior bookings.
