Opening its luxe doors on Friday, February 10th, Atlantis The Royal has been a buzz ever since Dubai announced “it will reshape ultra-luxury travel”. Eight years in the making, the new iconic landmark of hospitality has finally arrived with a resplendent Grand Reveal Weekend. Here’s what the rave is all about!
Crafted by the world’s leading designers, architects and artists, the hotel delivers a curated array of awe-inspiring experiences – inviting guests to swim amongst the clouds in sky pools, be dazzled by fountains that breathe fire or dine at more celebrity chef restaurants than anywhere else in the world. Guests are taken on a journey of the impossible, with artful masterpieces, iconic entertainment and beautiful craftsmanship at every turn, where the highest level of service will set a new standard in excellence.
Atlantis The Royal is the place where something incredible happens at every moment. Here is how it’s defining a new era:
1.) A-Listers On The Block
The evening’s Red Carpet featured global A-Listers including Beyoncé, Kendall Jenner, Liam Payne, Rebel Wilson, Ellen Pompeo, Winston Dukes and Letitia Wright. Stars from around the world also gathered including Germany’s Verona Pooth, British TV presenter Mark Wright with wife Michelle Keegan, former Australian Masterchef judge and chef Gary Mehigan, as well as former champion boxer Amir Khan. Dubai faces Huda and Mona Kattan and Mahira Abdelaziz joined Bollywood stars Sibani Dandekar and Farhah Khan on the carpet that brought together celebrities from the four corners of the globe. Bollywood’s biggest stars were spotted too, including mother-daughter duo Gauri and Suhana Khan, Disha Patani, Farah Khan, and Farhan Akhtar.
2.) Home To The First Nobu Beach Club
Glimmering with cabanas, spacious plunge pools and a stunning sundowner bar, Nobu By The Beach names the resort as the world’s first Nobu Beach club introduced by none other than Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Minimalist Japanese interiors paired with traditional delectables and Palm Island views and live music makes this an experience unmissable.
3.) Gastronomy By The World-Renowned
Atlantis The Royal is now home to seventeen new exclusive restaurants, including eight brand-new celebrity chef restaurants, headed up by culinary icons Nobu Matsuhisa, Jose Andres, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, the Queen of couture cakes Mich Turner, and Gaston Acurio. Plating flavors from all across the world under one roof (Peruvian, Chinese, Spanish, Greek, and more!), guests shall expect the unexpected in fine dining.
4.) Kendall Jenner’s Exclusive Soiree
Supermodel Kendall Jenner celebrated the launch of her 818 Tequila brand at the resort’s star-studded Cloud 22 Skypool. Celebrity attendees and special guests including Amir Khan, Chanel Ayan, Ronan Keating, and Millie Mackintosh joined Kendall above the clouds – toasting to the launch next to a life-size statue of the ultra-premium Añejo Reserve, Eight Reserve by 818.
5.) Global Icon Beyonce Graces The Opening
With powerful vocals, high-energy choreography, and an awe-inspiring production, Beyoncé’s 60- minute performance was her first live show since 2018. Opening with a stunning rendition of the Etta James’ classic, “At Last,”, she treated the star-studded audience to some of her biggest career-spanning hits, including “Halo” and “Crazy in love.” In a breathtaking finale moment, set against the stunning backdrop of Atlantis The Royal, the artist was raised sixteen feet into the air amidst one of the world’s unique performance fountains, Skyblaze. Surrounded by a field of water and fire, a powerful rendition of “Drunk in Love” closed the magnificent show.
Global DJ supergroup Swedish House Mafia headlined the afterparty and took to the stage to perform hits, including “One” and “Don’t You Worry Child,” as guests celebrated until the early hours.
6.) Cloud 22: Splash In The Sky
Located on the 22nd floor and offering panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and Palm Island, Cloud 22 is set to be one of the most luxurious sky pools in the world. Soaring 96 meters above The Palm and spanning 90 meters in length, Cloud 22 features an endless infinity pool with swim up bar and floating beds, 14 air conditioned cabanas with private plunge pool and a two-storey VVIP cabana – which comes with a private pool and floating infinity pool on the second storey.
7.) Perfectly Luxe
Atlantis The Royal ignites the horizon with a collection of 795 elegant Rooms, Suites and Signature Penthouses featuring stunning views of the Dubai skyline and Arabian Sea. Private infinity pools and cabanas, sky pool and lounge, and state-of-the-art gym are curated with the finest touches.
8.) Drinks By The Shore
Celebrated chef Heston Blumenthal debuts his bar “Resonance”, where guests can admire a 21ft high aquarium containing 4,000 jellyfish – billed as the largest in the world. An innovative new experience, guests will be accompanied by an eclectic selection of global wines and a lively cocktail bar offering a bespoke range of drinks, distillations, and infusions.
9.) Paradox Invasion
Spanning four acres of mesmerizing property, Atlantis The Royal is a dream from the very moment you arrive. Guests shall enter the resort through two reflective walls of glass that feature water flowing with bursts of fire. Aptly named Firefall, the combination of fire and water serves as a prelude to ‘Skyblaze’, a 28-meter high fire and water fountain.
10.) A Royal Cut For The Royal Launch
To commemorate the hotel’s much-anticipated launch, Mich Turner MBE from The Little Venice Cake Company, created a giant Grand Reveal Celebration Cake.With seven layers of 25 handmade sugar birds and 80 hand-painted butterflies, the masterpiece was curated in six days by seven pastry chefs.
