A paradigm shift is underway in the ever-evolving Indian beauty landscape, guided by a fusion of tradition and innovation. As the industry witnesses this surging wave of change, RAS Luxury Skincare emerges as a leader, reshaping the narrative of premium skincare and beauty. Pronounced ‘ruh-us,’ which translates to essence and happiness in Sanskrit, the brand symbolises a fusion of natural heritage and cutting-edge excellence. Nestled in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, its proprietary facility and farms serve as the birthplace of meticulously crafted formulations blending natural bounty with scientific precision. Beyond skincare, RAS embodies a cultural renaissance, exemplifying the spirit of new age beauty brands that celebrate their roots while soaring into the future. Here, we explore the brand’s inspiring journey, with inputs from its founders.
A Dynamic Trio of Female Visionaries
An all-female leadership is at the helm of RAS Luxury Skincare. The formidable Shubhika Jain, serving as the Founder and CEO, joined forces with her mother, the visionary Co-Founder and CRO, Sangeeta Jain, and her sister, the Co-Founder and CMO, Suramya Jain. In a testament to their impactful leadership, Shubhika Jain recently earned her spot among the Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) for the year 2023—a global recognition that spotlights leaders dedicated to addressing the world’s most pressing issues with a blend of vision and values.
“Gender and where you come from will never define your journey. If you have a dream, run towards it. In a world that limits our own full potential, be your biggest cheerleader. Goals will keep getting bigger and there is nothing stopping you from achieving your dreams,” she said. The story of RAS unfolds not just as a skincare saga but as a tale of female entrepreneurship and global impact.
Of Purity and Authenticity
At the heart of RAS lies a philosophy that transcends the ordinary, a commitment to redefining beauty with authenticity and purity. From its inception, the brand has rapidly expanded into a specialised, luxury direct-to-consumer (D2C) skincare and cosmetics company, experiencing an astounding annual growth rate of 300%. This extraordinary trajectory is steered by an all-female team deeply devoted to crafting products that harness the power of active botanicals while embodying the principles of genuineness and purity. In every formulation and every expansion, the brand continues to epitomise its dedication to creating an unparalleled skincare experience that reflects its core values.
“Our ingredients are grown organically on our own farms or purchased from respected local producers who are known for their freshness and purity. The ingredients are developed and made in our government-approved facility, which is also our internal R&D facility with DSIR approval, before being packed and sent out in a timely manner to customers,” said Suramya Jain, co-founder and CMO.
Recent Funding and Achievements
RAS is India’s first ‘Farm-to-Face™’ luxury skincare and personal care brand. Recently, the brand has achieved a significant milestone, securing a substantial investment of USD 1.5 million from Green Frontier Capital (GFC), a prominent venture capital firm hailing from the sustainability hub of New York, USA. This funding infusion is a testament to RAS’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. Notably, GFC stands out as India’s premier climate-change-focused fund, exclusively supporting early-stage companies that drive transformative advancements in green industries. As RAS continues to redefine the landscape of skincare, this strategic investment signals a promising chapter in the brand’s journey towards sustainable beauty and groundbreaking achievements. RAS has also bagged various awards in the last few years, including the ‘Best Spa Product: Anti-Ageing, India’ at the GlobalSpa Awards 2022.
