On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Pierre Jaquet-Droz’s birth, The Maison introduces a unique piece, exclusive for the Only Watch, a charity sale to benefit the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy).
Consecutively for the ninth time, Jaquet Droz is donating a unique piece for Only Watch. The luxury brand put to work its Ateliers d’Art to produce a plique-à-jour dia, exclusively for the famous charity sale. The recent creation features various straight and geometric sections separated by white gold, thus forming a dial which has been entirely polished flat.
The new Grande Seconde Skelet-One Tourbillon “Only Watch” is realized in titanium and the cage has been lightened and optimized with regards to its chronometric functions. The balance spring and pallet lugs are made of silicon. The tourbillon is highly open to let the light pass through, creating an illusion of being both large and lightweight to the timepiece.
The underlying architecture is the perfect blend of technical and unique. With the brand new skeleton structure, the Grande Seconde Skelet-One Tourbillon “Only Watch” focuses on straight lines, angles, modernity, and perfect symmetry and its highly precise tourbillon movement furthers the technical smoothness and aesthetic appeal of the piece.
The bridges finished in black render a matte finish align perfectly with the timepiece’s geometric cage. Each area of the enamel is achieved by applying an extremely fine diamond powder polish. Every color tone of these enamel is achieved at a specific high temperature, following a color chart proposed by the Only Watch. Different color tones were associated with different characteristics like red, orange, and yellow into an expression of happiness, passion, optimism, and even energy—all values that support the cause championed by the Only Watch.
