The theme for the 2019 International Mountain Day is ‘Mountains Matter for Youth’.

Tawang Valley

 

Situated approximately 3,048 meters above sea level in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang is known for many important and beautiful monasteries. Udaipur

 

Popularly known as the City of Lakes, no trip to Rajasthan is complete without visiting Udaipur. Some even call it “Venice of the East’ and has an abundance of flora, temples and some of the most important architecture from the days of the Maharajas. The city is surrounded by four lakes and justifies its name. The lake Palace hotel and the City Palace offers a perfect scenery to all visitors. 

 

 

 

Chikmagalur

 

Located in the Mullayangiri Range in Karnataka at an altitude of 3,400 ft, Chikmaglur is known as the ‘Coffee Land of Karnataka’. An uninterrupted fragrance of air surrounds the environment with lush forests, tall mountains and a very calm and serene atmosphere. This is a perfect getaway destination from the busy city life. The Mullayangiri trek, the Kemmanagundi trek, and the Baba Budangiri trek are quite popular trekking spots.

 

Dalhousie 

Located in the lap of Himachal Pradesh, Dalhousie is a paradise for all travellers and tourists. It is full of old-school charm, breath-taking flora and fauna, pine-clad valleys, fast-flowing rivers and magnificent mountains and some of the most spectacular views in the world. The architecture breaths Scottish and Victorian era and the ambience reminds of the untouched British taste. Khajjiar, in the Chamba district is the most popular spot in the hill station.

 

Araku Valley

 

A popular hill station and a weekend getaway destination, this valley is located 120 kms from Vishakhapatnam. The hill station is blessed with exclusivity and tranquillity with breath-taking landscapes. Located in the Eastern Ghats, the nearby villages of Champi and Madugula are popular trekking spots.
