PEAKLIFE gets in conversation with Disha Vadgama, Fashion Designer, Image Consultant and Founder of DV Fashion Studio – a premium fashion label established in Gujarat.
Located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, DV Fashion Studio brings life to India’s history and tradition with their contemporary-meets-traditional outfits. Led by designer and creative head Disha Vadgama, the entrepreneur has poured her passion for designing with this label – aiming to build a new hallmark in elegance, glamour and grandeur.
In conversation with the visionary, PEAKLIFE discovers how Disha forayed into fashion, leads the DV Fashion label, and her plans for the near future:
1.) Starting off, how did DV Fashion Studio come into inception?
It all started in 2016 with one basic 500sq. space, when I finished my school and realized I wanted to start my own label, so I hired one area where I used to display my designs, and that was the start of my fashion career. I was inspired by the elegance and charm found in India’s textile tradition.
2.) What is the vision that you carry for DV Fashion Studio today?
My goal for DV Fashion Studio is to become a global name in fashion which can be achieved by creating unique and beautiful designs that fulfill the needs of customers .
3.) How does your expertise as a costume stylist in the film industry merge within the fashion industry as a designer?
As I previously stated, my goal is to expand globally, therefore I began collaborating with the film business because the outfits we designed and subsequently made exactly catered to the needs of celebrities. This teamwork method also aided me in my business. Today, just a few Ahmedabad designers are familiar with the concept of collaboration in the film industry. And I’m glad that I took advantage of the opportunities, and that we’re making progress with small steps.
4.) What would you say is your personal style statement?
Simply be comfortable and confident with your attire. Carrying yourself well and confidently is only my own statement.
5.) Any word of advice for today’s aspiring fashion designers and/or entrepreneurs?
Learn your profession, accept responsibility, and be creative and artistic in your vision. Learn the fundamentals. Most essential, believe in yourself.
6.) Lastly, what is your success mantra?
It’s simple: I plan, I explore, I take risks, and I trust the process.
