Here are some steps you can take to make sure the inside of the house isn’t just as dangerous as the outside.
The coronavirus outbreak swept us all out of our workspace and back to our houses. But is that really the best option if your own house isn’t well kept?
As per the CDC, here are some guidelines you should follow for a safe and clean sanctuary:
DISINFECT ALL SURFACES
Think about all the common surfaces you come in touch with – knobs, door handles, kitchen slabs, sinks, tables, chairs, remote controls, even your refrigerator door! Swipe them all clean using a disinfectant such as Lysol or Dettol. Once or twice a day should be good, however more frequent would be better.
SWIPE CLEAN YOUR DEVICES
If you’re one of those people shut at home working, make it a stern point to swipe clean ALL your electronics– especially your mobile, your keyboard, and your mouse. These are the devices you’re going to be in contact with for most of the day anyway, so make sure you’re cleaning them at least twice a day.
WEAR GLOVES
Before and foremost, stock up gloves to use during cooking, sweeping, dusting, and doing the laundry. If disposable, dispose them off properly in the bin with a closed lid. You can even clean gloves with vinegar and water by leaving the solution inside to absorb it for 15-20 minutes, pat, and then dry.
LAUNDER OFTEN
This would be the right time to go the extra mile and do the laundry more often than before. Launder your bed sheets, pillowcases, cushions, curtains, tablecloths, and other such fabrics you come in contact with on the daily. Twice a week is advisable. Invest in a good detergent as well.
WASH YOUR HANDS
KEEP A HAND SANITIZER CLOSE BY
Lastly, make sure you have an alcohol sanitizer close to you at all times of the day.
