Bringing Personality To Your Wardrobe – Mohit Jain, Miraggio

Inspired by and made for the quintessential modern women, Miraggio Life is reinventing fashion with their curated accessory collections. Aiming to empower through fashion, the handbag brand has the perfect style statement for every woman in today’s era – be it minimalistic, glam chic, or both! Refined, unique, and high-quality, Miraggio is the brainchild of Founder Mohit Jain.

In candid conversation with the young entrepreneur, PEAKLIFE delves into Miraggio’s inception, vision, and future plans:

1. Starting off, how did the concept for Miraggio come about?

Our research and observations led us to discover a gap in the market. Women were looking for bags that kept up with international trends while falling at a middle price point. Such a brand was missing from the Indian landscape. We found that there was a change in the consumer behaviour and people today were always looking for the perfect accessory that pairs well with their outfits and completes their look. As a result, we have witnessed an immense growth in min-range priced products in the past couple of years. This was the foundation that Miraggio was built upon.

2. What would you say is the USP of the brand?

At the heart of Miraggio, we’re an aspirational luxury accessories brand. Our consumer buying experience supersedes many other brands in the online space. This paired with our ability to push the boundaries through constant innovation and maintain international standards with trends and styles is what makes us unique. We’re not just following trends, we’re inspiring them and leading a fashion revolution from the front.

3. Why “Miraggio”? What was the inspiration behind this name?

Gen Z and Millennial women wanted to stay trend-forward but on a budget. Before we came into existence, finding a brand that constantly reinvented its styles to keep up with the trends and was also affordable at the same time almost felt like a mirage. That is where we found the inspiration for our brand name, Miraggio. The search for affordable yet trend-forward accessories ends here.

4. What kind of challenges did you have to face throughout the journey?

All startups face their fair share of challenges in the journey of becoming a brand and so did we. However, our unique and biggest challenge was to sustain in the market while introducing the right products at the perfect price point without compromising our quality. Another major challenge was maintaining appropriate margins for the brand with high sourcing costs of material purchases and cutting down on operational costs.

5. What are your thoughts on digital becoming the main medium of retail today? Do you think it comes with more pros or cons, especially for Miraggio?

It’s easier for consumers to shop online as it saves a lot of time and money for the consumers as compared to retail purchasing. But, it has its own pros and cons. When it comes to online purchasing, it is difficult for the consumer to get the full product experience as compared to retail stores. In my opinion, with the right technology and data speed, we will be able to achieve that soon. In the context of Miraggio, digital has been the first target since our inception and will continue to remain the same. It has been working quite well for us until now with the exception of occasional technical issues that are faced by almost every e-commerce company on a daily basis. However, our strength lies in our will and efforts to constantly work towards improving our customer satisfaction.

6. How have you been sustaining through the pandemic?

Apart from the first lockdown where the entire logistics was shut down for 3-4 months, we haven’t faced any major problems related to the pandemic. In fact, our experience has been quite the opposite with our numbers consistently growing in an upward trajectory every month.

7. What is the vision that you carry for Miraggio as a brand?

I want to position Miraggio as the most coveted fashion accessories brand for Millenial and Gen Z women. Ofcourse, at some point in our journey, we have hopes to expand internationally as well!

8. Lastly, any word of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

My advice to all entrepreneurs would be to stay consistent in their endeavors. Never give up and when faced with challenges, research, adapt and evolve. This is the only way to exceed and believe in the fact that you will be successful one day not too far away from now.
