Since April 12, 1992, Disneyland Paris has enchanted guests of all ages. As this kingdom of dreams and magic completes 30 years, a grand celebration awaits, including new decor, new costumes, and new shows! Having hosted more than 375 millions visitors, Europe’s top tourist destination now introduces experiences that are more immersive and innovative than ever before, designed to create unforgettable memories and usher in a new era, starting March 6, 2022.
New Shows
Disneyland Paris is renowned for iconic shows like Mickey and the Magician, The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands and Disney Junior Dream Factory. For its 30th Anniversary, a new show will be performed every day, several times a day, on Central Plaza at Disneyland Park, in front of the newly refurbished Sleeping Beauty Castle. Based on the themes of laughter, passion, and dreams, the show will feature more than 30 Disney Characters and dancers with new colorful floats and a unique soundtrack. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and their friends will appear in their new iridescent costumes, which have been created especially for the 30th Anniversary and were showcased recently through a special fashion show. Many other characters who have marked the history of animation will join them, including the Genie from Aladdin, Princess Rapunzel, and Jessie and Woody from Toy Story, just to name a few.
Disney D-Light
At nightfall, a new spectacle of lights and emotions will be presented to guests, before one of the most crowd-pleasing shows, Disney Illuminations. Called Disney D-Light, this new pre-show will combine video projections, illuminated water jets, lighting effects, mist, famous Disney songs, and above all, drone choreography to add a touch of Magic to the setting. The seamless special effects will allow viewers to witness the Castle transform before their very eyes. To kick off the celebration and for a limited time, a light and air show featuring 200 drones will be performed at the end of the pre-show. These synchronized drones will form a sparkling figure “30” in the sky right above Sleeping Beauty Castle, as a special new theme song, ‘Un monde qui s’illumine’, plays in the background.
The First Ultra-chic Pantsuit For Minnie Mouse by Stella McCartney!
British designer Stella McCartney has created the first-ever pantsuit to be worn by Minnie, which will be flaunted as part of the grand celebrations. “I am delighted to be working with the one, the only, the iconic Minnie Mouse. I have designed a custom outfit for her in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris. Minnie has always had a special place in my heart. We share the same values. What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style! I wanted Minnie to wear her very first pantsuit at Disneyland Paris, so I have designed one of my iconic costumes – a blue tuxedo – using responsibly sourced fabrics. This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation. She will wear it in honor of Women’s History Month, in March 2022. I can’t wait for you to see this new look at Walt Disney Studios Park!”, said Stella McCartney.
Avengers Campus Opens in Summer 2022!
This anniversary will also mark the highly-anticipated opening of the new theme-based area, Avengers Campus, starting Summer 2022. Superheroes from the MARVEL universe will gather at the Park, inviting guests to embark on a brand-new epic journey consisting of adrenaline-fuelled missions. This extension of the immersive experience into the MARVEL universe will be a treat for children and adults who are fans of the franchise.
Special Entertainment for Extra Magic
Besides the special 30th anniversary entertainment program, there will be more than 50 attractions delivering thrilling adventures and enchanting journeys to suit all tastes. Guests can interact with Disney Characters at ‘Selfie Spots’, and all-time favourite shows such as Mickey and the Magician (performances starting in spring/summer 2022), Disney Junior Dream Factory, and Disney Stars on Parade will continue to enthral visitors. For a dose of nostalgia, Disney Illuminations will immerse Guests in Disney, Pixar, and Star WarsTM stories, from the past and the present!
New Gardens Of Wonder to Celebrate Nature
Disneyland Park will be home to the entirely new Gardens of Wonder, composed of 10 different theme-based gardens dotted with 30 brand new art pieces—kinetic sculptures of Disney and Pixar characters ‘coming to life’—as imagined by the Landscaping and Entertainment teams and produced by local craftsmen. The Gardens will pay an ode to nature, allow guests to stroll along a magical promenade, and display the diversity of popular Disney and Pixar Characters. For example, the Garden of Asia will include sculptures of Baymax (Big Hero 6), Mushu (Mulan) and Sisu (Raya and the Last Dragon).
Food & Beverage Options to Celebrate 30 Magical Years!
For months, the chefs at Disneyland Paris have been passionately developing and testing new dishes to complement this special occasion. As of March 6, 2022, guests will be able to enjoy more than sixty tasty dishes with new vegetarian and vegan options, delicious desserts, and exclusive cocktails. Table-service restaurants will feature themed desserts by the pastry team of Les Délices de Minnie which lies inside Disneyland Paris. All-you-can-eat buffets will feature a new anniversary-themed macarons assortment that will be a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds. The Disneyland Paris barman team has also created exclusive drinks as part of the celebrations.
