Sure, there are treasure troves of horror series you could watch but if you’re seriously looking for something to make an impact – this one’s a rec. Creator Mike Flanagan has twisted and transformed the tale of five adult siblings – bouncing between their past and present, dealing with demons both real and not. A lot horror, a little psychological.

RELATIVELY RELATABLE
Searching for some new stand up comedies? Watch Relatively Relatable: Stand Up Special by Naveen Richard. According to Amazon, “Naveen Richard brings together some tasty observational comedy that has proven to be relatable 9 out of 12 times.” The stand0up runs for only 56 minutes; easy to squeeze in a light-hearted relatable stock of laughs.

THE WAY BACK
An engaging sports drama, The Way Back highlights Jack Cunningham who chose to walk away from his dream – basketball during college. Years have gone, and he’s handed over the opportunity to relive it. He gets to coach his own team and as they begin to seize and win, he might get his lost at redemption. A crippling, honest portrayal of second chances and how to use them.

BIRDS OF PREY
Margot Robbie played fantastic in DC’s Suicide Squad and following suit her character Harley Quinn arrives Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and her girl gang starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, Ali Wong, and Ewan McGregor. DC fans, it’s yet to arrive on the usual Netflix or Amazon Prime, but in the meanwhile, you can watch it on other platforms.

OUTBREAK
Another medical disaster film if you’re looking for something very relevant to today. Outbreak pans the story of army doctors struggling to find the cure to a deadly virus spreading throughout the California town that was brought inside by a monkey. Though it’s a 1995 film, the film aligns well even in 2020.

VIRUS
If regional films don’t interest you, this one just might. The Malayalam film revolves around the deadly Nipah virus epidemic scare in 2018, zoonotic disease top-listed by WHO. The film documents how the small state managed to fight and win the battle. A gripping medical thriller, Virus is a very relevant watch considering the current pandemic situation.
