When design meets a destination

Sanjay Garg, in association with Monaco Tourism, put up a stellar show at LFW Winter/Festive 2016

In a perfect end to the Sustainable Fashion and Indian Textiles Day at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016, Monaco Tourism in partnership with ace designer Sanjay Garg presented his label Raw Mango to ardent fashion connoisseurs.

Known for his beautifully woven Varanasi silks and Chanderis, Sanjay showcased his latest look in textiles for the festive season. A riot of colours splayed on the ramp with the saris and ensembles, which glittered with motifs and weaves that enthralled the audience.

The collection christened ‘Monkey Business’ comprised a fascinating array of garments which came adorned with amazing motifs woven into the gorgeous fabrics. The show which was attended by some celebrated faces of the fashion industry, including Indian television host Mini Mathur and famous theatre and film artist Tisca Chopra.

This association of Monaco Tourism with Raw Mango melded seamlessly, as both brands reflect a perfect amalgamation of traditional splendour with a contemporary touch.

Monaco offers an enchanting blend of history, culture, arts and fashion. Prestigious labels in haute couture, perfumes and jewellery – Monaco has it all. In the heart of the city-state is the famous Cercle d’Or which houses luxury brands stores while the alleys of the old town are home to street merchants who display typical souvenirs. Some of the key shopping centres are the galleries of the Métropole shopping centre, the Allées Lumières, or the Fontvielle Shopping Centre.

As Sanjay Garg put it impeccably, “We are delighted to partner with Monaco Tourism for our Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 garment presentation. Monaco, as a destination has a long history celebrating design and heritage, which is close to our hearts as well. As sponsors of LFW, they are promoting cross cultural dialogues and supporting India’s design community – a wonderful initiative.”
