2. Detective Pikachu Returns (Nintendo Switch)
The new “Pokémon” video game, “Detective Pikachu Returns,” brings players to Ryme City, where they’ll unravel a string of mysteries alongside a no-nonsense, caffeine-loving Pikachu who proudly identifies as a skilled detective. As part of this captivating installment, gamers will delve into the art of solving enigmas in Ryme City, joining forces with Pikachu and his human counterpart, Tim Goodman, as outlined by Nintendo.
3. Sonic Superstars (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X)
Explore the mystical Northstar Islands in a new twist on classic 2D Sonic high-speed platforming. Play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose, utilizing brand-new Emerald powers for dynamic movement and combat. Roam beautiful, unseen landscapes alone or with up to three companions to thwart Dr. Eggman, Fang, and a mysterious adversary, preventing them from converting the island’s giant animals into Badniks.
4. Endless Dungeon (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X)
In Endless Dungeon, you lead a squad of three characters exploring an abandoned space station with eight unique playable characters, each armed with distinct weapons and skills. When playing solo, you directly control one character and issue commands to the others. Your objective is to safeguard a “Crystal Bot” moving to bulkhead doors across ten procedurally generated levels. Along the way, explore rooms that offer resources like food, science, industry, and Dust Shards, which can be used for squad healing, research, turret construction, and enhancing the Crystal Bot.
5. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged (Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X)
Explore breathtaking tracks in various locales, from suburban backyards to Wild West village mini-golf courses. You’ll race with the latest and coolest cars! Discover five new locations, unlock their secrets, and become a podium champion. The introduction of new terrains, including grass and sand, significantly impacts vehicle handling, requiring strategic choices for a more thrilling and challenging race experience.
6. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (PlayStation 5)
Peter Parker and Miles Morales, the Spider-Men, make a thrilling comeback in the highly acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man series for PS5. Swing, leap, and employ the innovative Web Wings to travel around Marvel’s New York, seamlessly shifting between these two heroes to encounter distinct narratives and extraordinary new abilities. They face a formidable enemy in Venom, who poses a grave threat to their lives, their beloved city, and the people they love.
7. Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo Switch)
This new release is one of the most highly anticipated games of the month! Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a side-scrolling platform game with eight playable characters exploring the Flower Kingdom. Players guide characters to complete levels while avoiding enemies and collecting “Wonder Seeds.” New power-ups include transformations like an elephant, bubble-generating flowers, and more. Badges provide various perks, and the game supports local multiplayer for up to four players, with some online multiplayer features.
8. Ghostrunner 2 (PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X)
Prepare for intense, first-person perspective (FPP) slasher action, set in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk future, one year after Ghostrunner’s events. Jack returns to confront a violent AI cult outside the fallen Dharma Tower, where the tyrant Keymaster once ruled humanity’s last refuge. Expect remarkable katana combat, an expanded world, non-linear levels with thrilling motorbike segments, new modes, and the familiar Ghostrunner action. The interactive boss fights offer players freedom in their survival tactics.
9. Alan Wake 2 (PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X)
Compared to the first Alan Wake game, Alan Wake II is a third-person survival horror game. Players can take on the roles of Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in separate single-player stories, with the flexibility to choose the order, except for the opening and ending sequences. Both characters explore and combat enemies using firearms and a flashlight. Focusing the flashlight weakens enemies but depletes its battery, requiring players to use batteries and ammunition thoughtfully for survival.
