When in Singapore, you can’t miss the opportunity of visiting the ‘Soho of Singapore’ – Quayside! For those who’ve yet to experience this vibrant dining destination, here are 10 things about Quayside that’ll inspire a visit.
Round the clock, al fresco dining
Quayside comes to life in the morning and remains open late into the evening. With no two restaurants offering the same cuisine, visitors are able to grab a healthy bite to start the day, have a laidback brunch with friends or wind down with late-night cocktails. Quayside’s dynamic selection of restaurants and bars each has its own culinary influence: Mexican flavours at Super Loco, tastes of the Med at Summerlong, Bombay charm at Dabbawalla, modern Italian at D.O.P., rustic French at Les Bouchons, and classic Australian at Boomarang. Positioned in the heart of Singapore’s vibrant residential Robertson Quay neighbourhood, Quayside provides a laidback alfresco atmosphere, allowing guests to enjoy the cool river breeze and picturesque views of the Singapore River.
A New York Steakhouse first for Singapore
New York institution, Wolfgang Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zweiner, opened its flagship Singapore restaurant at Quayside at the end of last year. The globally recognised steakhouse brings more than five decades of experience, and is renowned for offering top quality beef that has been dry-aged onsite, giving a unique flavour profile to the meat.
Arrive by water
Quaysiders can arrive in style via the WaterB river taxis that cruise along the Singapore River, avoiding the rush hour traffic and providing a relaxing commute. With stops between Clifford Pier, Raffles Place, Fort Canning, Havelock and Kim Seng, rides can be conveniently paid for with EZ-link or NETS FlashPay cards at $5 a ride or a $150 monthly pass for unlimited rides. Shuttle river taxis run weekdays 8am-10am and evenings 5pm – 7pm.
