A standout event in the sporting calendar, the 7th edition of the Vishwa Samudra Golden Eagles Championships recently kicked off with grandeur and high enthusiasm in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. All three cities witnessed over 100 golfers vying for the coveted prizes, including a breath-taking hole-in-one prize—a BMW i7 Electric M Sport. The overall champion was rewarded with a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, and other prizes included iPhones, PXG Irons, and gift vouchers. With a round of golf during the day and a night filled with entertainment and fun, the events wound up in the true sense of celebrating ‘Golf Glamour and Glory’.
A Star-Studded Affair
Under the scorching sun and challenging wind conditions across 18 holes, golfers faced a stern test of their abilities in the first edition of the 2023 season. The event, graced by the presence of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev and tennis icon Sania Mirza, added a touch of nostalgia and glam to the golfing extravaganza.
International pros such as Camilla Lennarth from Sweden, Gabriella Partington from the UK, and Indian talents Neha Tripathi and Ridhima Dhilawari showcased their prowess on the course. Cricket legend Brian Lara impressed with his golfing skills, and Paul Barrington, the World Trick Shot Champion, enthralled the audience with mind-blowing tricks, setting the stage for an electrifying tee-off among the competitors.
An Evening of Golf and Grandeur
In line with the theme of the event, Golf Glamour Glory, the evening entertainment section witnessed all the above celebrities, including Actress Prachee Tehlan, in addition to a masterpiece act by one of world’s most talented and Grammy-nominated Flamenco Dance Groups, Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company who came down all the way from Miami and Spain. The Golden Eagles Golf Championship, started in 2015 by Mr. Chinta Sasidhar, Chairman of Vishwa Samudra Group, has grown into India’s most sought-after corporate golf event. Over the years, the tournament has attracted corporate and professional golfers, as well as a galaxy of celebrities such as Brian Lara, Sharmila Nicolette, Chitrangada Singh, Tamanna Bhatia, R. Madhavan, Mandira Bedi, Tvesa Malik, and Ridhima Dilawari. The event serves as a platform to honour individuals who have brought glory to the country.
