Levi’s® celebrates 50 years of trucker jackets
Levi’s is celebrating its 50 years of the Trucker jacket. Fifty years ago it was introduced as 70505 and was common amongst rock stars to rebels. Keeping up to the traditions the denim jackets have continually evolved throughout the 20th century.
Born into the rebellious ‘Summer of Love’ movement and rocked by George Harrison on San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, the Type III Trucker jacket represents a voice of the youth, authentic style and self-expression that has rocked our culture ever since 1967.
“When anyone thinks of a jean jacket, the image that comes up is invariably the Levi’sÒ Type III Trucker. It’s the template and was designed by Jack Lucier with the original lot number: 70505. It wasn’t until the ‘90s that the term “Trucker” came into use” comments Jonathan Cheung, Levi’s® Global Head of Design.
For Fall/Winter 2017 Levi’s created new winter-ready line of Trucker jackets in a range of washes. This range is priced between Rs. 4099 and Rs.6999, and will be available across Levi’s® stores in India.
