Thriving at the CES 2020

These are the highlights of CES 2020 – a momentous seminar setting trend for the upcoming tech era.

Marked in its 50th year, the Consumers Electronic Show (CES) 2020 has dusted away, leaving behind a mammoth of new tech and devices setting stone for what’s to come. While TV’s marked the most prominence this season, there were certain revelations that were none less than awe-worthy and innovative to the next dial.

As we venture into more, PEAKLIFE dots for you the best of the best at the CES 2020 fiesta. Take a look:

ON CLOUD 9 WITH BELL NEXUS

Save your most precious resource (time) with the Bell Nexus 4EX – a four-duct vehicle configurable in an electric or hybrid-electric platform. The vertical-lift craft promises efficient, cleaner, and capable that’ll assist in delivery and commute. Initially, the Bell Nexus will be carrying goods, people and data spanning across cities. Turning a 45-minute ride to that of 10, the Bell Nexus Air Taxi is set to soar high.

YOUR NEXT BINGE STOP: QUIBI

Streaming online has already quite changed the way we view content. Quibi promises to transform the way we view content on our phones. A venture by Jeffrey Katzenburg and Meg Whitman, the video streaming tech will be introducing elements unique to its service such as Turnstyle – allowing immediate portrait or landscape as users switch positions of their phone, a horror series that’ll only be available for the night, and foresee quick 10-minute episodes instead of a whole half-hour or hour long binge. The app Quibi will be arriving on April 6th this year.

NEON SHINES BRIGHT

AI, as assumed, was a vivid topic at the CES this year. One that stood out the most was the buzzing NEON by Samsung – a computationally created virtual being that looks and behaves like a real human, cooped with the ability to show emotions and intelligence. CEO Pranay Mistry states it’s not an AI assistant nor an interface to the Internet. Each NEON would be its own ‘individual’ specific to ethnicity and language, running on the CORE R3 – reality, realtime, and responsive. Plunging on a thin line of human and robotic, NEON shall connect and learn, gain new skills and evolve.

REINVENTED. REINNOVATED. REFRIGERATOR.

Staying connected is now a cold matter. The newly introduced Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator is the modern answer to staying connected as a family. Equipped with unique features personalized to your needs, the fridge includes in-built cameras that help view the inside of the fridge, smooth connect with your mobile for streaming apps like Spotify and at last, the SmartThings app that allows you to control lights on the thermostat as well as see who’s on the front door! It’s an all-new paraphrase to comfort and convenience.

THE BETTER BOOK

The Asus Chromebook is the ultra-light, ultra-compact and ultra-powerful addition to the Chromebook Collection. While the laptop dominantly stays the same, the now 14-inch FHD display in a 13-inch chassis device can now be used in new modes such as tent, stand, or tablet. Innovative omnidirectional speakers don’t let compromise on sound quality. It’s one of the rare Chromebook featuring a fingerprint reader built into the power button for unlocking without a password.

THINQING EXTRA COMFORT

Winner of the sought-after 2020 CES Innovation Award, the new LG ThinQ front-load washing machine welcomes the Artificial Intelligent Direct Drive™ (AI DD) motor along with the company’s AI-powered Proactive Customer Care service. The AI-powered machine not only detects the volume and weight of each unique laundry load, but also uses AI and advanced sensors to identify fabric types in each load. TurboWash™ 360 uses strong jets on all angles so detergent penetrates deeper while the LG TWINWash™ saves time with two washers in one footprint. ThinQ will be available in the first half of 2020 in North America, followed suit in other markets later.

TWIST. BEND. FOLD.

Making no compromise on screen size or performance, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is the first fully functional PC with a folding OLED display. What sets the Pad apart is the range from smartphone portability to a fully flat display, offering more productivity and durability for the users. Pioneering, lightweight, and revolutionary – the new ThinkPad is an engaging must-have for travellers and corporates. The ThinkPad X1 Fold with Windows 10 is expected to be available in 2020 with prices expected to start at $2499 (INR 1,77,682).
