Here is a list of reason why you must keep certain plants in your homes. Below is the list of plants which will help you sleep better, based on their research.

  1. Palm Plant

Also known as Arecaceae or Reed Palm this plant is a fantastic home decor. These hardy houseplants are easy to grow and are a way to lift people’s spirits and distract from otherwise drab surroundings, and are also known to be natural air purifiers. Palms specifically target and remove formaldehyde, benzene and carbon monoxide which is especially helpful if someone in your household smokes cigarettes.

 

  1. Lavender

The purplish little shrubs, Lavender offers a host of uses in the home, from scenting linens, to giving fleas the brush-off, to seasoning foods. Lavender is yet another scent that has been thought throughout time to have a calming effect. The power of lavender transcends age—it can be relaxing and pleasant to smell for people of all ages. It also helps in anxiety and stress, anti-inflammatory, skin care, and for antiseptic ability.

 

  1. Gardenia

Gardenia is an evergreen bush type or perhaps a small tree which blooms really bright white flower and may even occasionally have got numerous colours. Also known as Gardenia Jamsinoides, apparently has a medical compound called Crocetin which has the ability to induce sleep as much as prescribed sleeping tablets.

 

  1. Aloe Vera

Aloes are well known succulents, not just for their beauty but for their medicinal properties as well. Aloe or Aloe Vera produces two substances, gel and latex, which are used for medicines. It emits oxygen at night, making for a more restful slumber. It’s also one of the easiest plants to grow and maintain – it tolerates ‘neglect’ well and so doesn’t require frequent watering.

This is one of the popular house plants, with bright and cheerful flowers. Gerbera Daisies comes in pink, yellow and white, and really can add beauty to any room. Moreover, where most plants release oxygen during the day, their respiratory cycle decreases in the evening hours but, gerbera daisies continue releasing oxygen all through the night to help you breath and sleep better. Gerbera daisies are especially helpful for those suffering from sleep apnea or breathing disorders.

A potent herb, Valerian has long been valued around the world for both its medicinal and culinary properties. The Valerian is a perennial flowering plant with sweetly scented pink or white flowers that bloom in the summer. Valerian has been shown to calm anxious nerves and bring sleep to weary insomniacs.

 

  1. Snake plant

The Snake Plant, or Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, is one of the most recommended plants for improving air quality. These plants can be neglected for weeks at a time; yet, with their strappy leaves and architectural shape, they still look fresh. The Snake Plant also filters some nasty but common household toxins namely formaldehyde, trichloroethylene and benzene from the air.

 

  1. Gold Pothos

Another powerful plant for tackling formaldehyde, this fast-growing vine will create a cascade of green from a hanging basket. Consider it for your garage because car exhaust is filled with formaldehyde. (Bonus: Golden pothos, also know as devil’s ivy, stays green even when kept in the dark.)

 

 

  1. English Ivy

Among evergreen ground covers, ivies, most notably English ivy, are well known and highly popular. These ivies not easily blanket on the growing area, but also considered to be good sign of a well-loved and cared for property. According to NASA reports English Ivy Plants are excellent Clean Air Plants and can absorb air-born toxins such as formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and especially benzene, there good for bedrooms. These plants are considered poisonous and should be kept away from pets and children.

 

  1. Peace Lilly

Peace Lily is one of the most prevalent houseplants on the market today and makes a great centrepiece due to their pretty white blossoms. Along with the lush foliage, it’s easily available for buying, simple to care for with easy to follow care instructions and also help filter the surrounding air of various toxins.

 

  1. Spider plant

The spider plant or Chlorophytum comosum is considered one of the most adaptable of houseplants and the easiest to grow. Available in green or variegated varieties, these spiderettes often start out as small white flowers. Spider plants, also known as airplane plants, clean air study, spider plants can filter formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene from the air.

 

  1. Jasmine
