1. Automatic Cab Doors
There is an electric door on the left-hand side of most taxis in Japan, which can be opened remotely by the driver. You are not supposed to open or close this door by yourself. This also serves as a form of hospitality, as it allows passengers to get into the taxi quicker without using their hands. Passengers will find it more convenient, especially if they are carrying several handbags.
2. Kotatsu Table
This popular low wooden table is covered by a thick futon with a tabletop. A small heater fueled by coal replaces a small electric heater. Its origin goes way back to the Muromachi era in the 14th century. Now, the Kotatsu table has become a staple in every Japanese home. They are designed to warm the whole body by inserting warm clothing under kimonos or warm clothes.

Japanese toilets are famous all over the world for their advanced technology. These super toilets, known as washlets, come equipped with many high-tech functions, including backside sprays, water temperature controls, perfumes, and even noise-cancelling sounds.
4. Vending Machine for Everything
In most of the world, vending machines are reserved for drinks, snacks, and candy. But Japan has millions of them for various products ranging from fruits, green tea, t-shirts, canned cakes, and even books. In 2014, there was one vending machine for every 33 citizens in Japan. It’s one of the best uses of technology, as seen from the point of view of efficient services.
5. Silent Karaoke
The Silent Karaoke device was designed for you to be able to belt out all the songs you want with no worries of disturbing the neighbours. The mic reduces up to 70% of sound through its cone, and an additional wire is attached to the cone and to an earpiece, allowing you to hear your voice as you sing.
