The Indian manufactured sedan is now available in two trim levels and two new interior options.
Unveiled in 2018, the new sedan is built on Volkswagen’s all new MLB platform and is powered by a BS-VI emission compliant 2.0-litre petrol in the 45TFSI engine. This engine produces 245bhp and 370Nm of torque and is mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission sending power to the front wheels.
The Audi A6 comes to the Indian market in a standard wheelbase guise, is 4939mm long, 1886mm wide and 1457mm tall. The wheelbase is 12mm longer than before. The luxury sedan from the German automaker looks spectacular with the wide grille, a sharper design and all new LED-headlights. The daytime running lights (DRL’s) are revised and might be seen in upcoming Audi models as well. The new A6 comes equipped new 18” alloys that can be increased to 20” as well as enhanced detailing for the taillights.
The newly launched sedan comes with a single frame grille and matrix LED headlights. The rear gets a three-dimensional shape. The new A6 gets taut roofline and short overhangs and the cabin gets features like leatherette seats, MMI navigation plus with 10.1-inch display, electrically adjustable steering column, four-zone air-conditioning and panoramic sunroof.
On the safety side, the new A6 gets lane departure warning system and Audi park assist with front and rear parking sensors. The interior is fully equipped with high-quality wood, piano black trim and some brushed aluminium make up for the upholstery. Audi is also offering fake leather as an option for the Indian market.
Now to the engine. There is a lone engine on offer, as we discussed earlier. This BS-VI turbo petrol displaces 2.0-litres and produces 245hp and 370Nm. A 7-speed dual clutch automatic has been added to the mix. There are different drive modes too and these alter the engine reaction based on the mode selected.
A virtual cockpit as well as new steering wheel is on offer. Customers will also get a wireless phone charger under the armrest while the Bang & Olufsen sound system from the previous model is carried over. The all-new infotainment system has a new dual touch screen system, with the top one for infotainment that can support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay while the bottom unit is for the four-zone climate control system. This Audi also comes with a lane departure warning, hands free parking, ambient lighting and with a sunroof. Its boot space capacity is 530 litres.
