One of the most bang-for-buck watches, Omega’s Railmaster has recently resurfaced the “watch world” with its latest new collection that features a denim-inspired dial and watch strap and we are all here for it!
Being released with Omega’s 1957 Trilogy watch, Railmaster was largely overshadowed and overlooked by the audience. But it still doesn’t change the fact that it is arguably a great watch for the money. The impeccable quality along with a top quality brand name and a Master Chronometer certified movement makes it one of the best in the market. And now with its latest denim version, you can provide a casual yet sophisticated side to your everyday look.
The basic features, however, remain the same; a 40 mm stainless steel case with a water resistance rating of 150m and a solid back case with Omega’s Naiad Lock System that fulfills the basic functions of ensuring a good seal and maintains the orientation of back case as always upright. The main change and what the brand is now trying to sell is the latest denim dial. The older Railmaster watches have a brushed dial in black and silver. Whereas in this new model, Omega launches a “blue denim jean” dial with a brushed finish that makes it look exactly like the fabric of a jean. The watch is powered by Omega Caliber 8806 which is a self-winding movement that has a power reserve of 55 hours.
Other features include resistance to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 Gauss and is Master Chronometer certified. Added to that, it also has a free sprung balance with silicon balance springs, a rhodium-plated rotor and bridges decorated with Cotes de Geneve.
Lastly, the watch is polished off with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal dome with an anti-reflective treatment to make it suitable for day to day wearing. The brand also offers an option between the straps. For a more professional look there’s a stainless steel version with a denim dial, while for a more casual and everyday look, there’s a denim strap version with the same denim dial. As per the strap, price varies between $4900 for the denim strap version and $5000 for stainless steel version.
