Holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business and Marketing, Anushka Nandani worked at a corporate firm for a year.
When she realized that she would be happier helping people train their minds and bodies instead of being buried in paperwork at a desk, she began experimenting, gaining certificates in MatPilates, Zumba, CPT, Functional Training and Aerobics.
Here’s PeakLife in a candid conversation with Anushka Nandani, a multidisciplinary fitness coach, dancer, and co-founder at The Tribe India taking us on her entrepreneurial journey.
What was the whole idea behind Tribe India and how did the idea for your business come about?
The Tribe was conceived at the beginning stage of the Pandemic in India on April 1st, 2020. It began as a charity drive to get people to stay fit & sane from home and the proceeds for the same went towards animal shelters & daily wage workers. The overwhelming response to the charity drive as well as the workouts led us to continue month after month. With the Tribe family growing multi-fold and clients seeing visible results not only in their bodies, but with their mental health as well, we decided to grow into a business venture and continue doing what we did.
How did you come up with the name for your company?
Our eventual goal along with getting people healthy and fit was also to build a community of individuals who could come together to a place where they could be heard, understood, and equipped with the tools required to live a healthy, well-balanced life. We wanted our Tribe, our community to be the epitome of wellness, care & appreciation. Hence, we came up with The Tribe!
Could you tell us about the culture in your organisation and how did you establish it?
I was very lucky to have like-minded co-founders like Robin & Karan. It’s very rare to come across individuals that share similar belief systems and values. We had one common goal: To help those around us understand the importance of wellness and aid them in whatever way we can. We’re also strong practitioners of gratitude and believe it to be a very powerful tool in self-growth and try to speed this message far and wide.
