The new glass technology would make the upcoming Tesla models better insulated with temperature-controlled interiors.
According to a report in one of the leading publications, Tesla has applied for a patent for its new glass technology which it has been developing with its own material design team in association with SpaceX.
Focusing on the new glass and eventually introducing “Tesla Glass” in the Cybertruck, the new glass technology in the patents is called “automotive perforated insulated glass structure.” The prime focus of this structure is to make the interior of the vehicles more insulated. This technology would also be capable of controlling the temperature inside the vehicle, thus improving the performance of the vehicles.
According to the patent filed, the new technology focuses on two features, noise cancellation and temperature control. Both these features can be controlled by adjusting the inner and outer layers of the glass. It is unclear whether this technology would be available in Tesla’s upcoming models or not.
