German sportswear giant Puma has signed Sunil Chhetri, captain of the Indian national football team and Bengaluru FC as its new ambassador for a term of three years.
One of the best strikers in Indian football, Chhetri joins the brand’s list of football icons like Antoine Griezmann, Romelu Lukaku, Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero and is only second to Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of active international scorers in the world of football.
The 35-year-old was honoured with Arjuna Award in 2011 and Padma Shri in 2019 and has been named All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Player of the Year six times.
