This winter let’s break the monotony and try something exquisite, instead of the regular cuppas we would like you to indulge. Here are some of the twists you could try to satisfy your winter beverage indulgences.
Maple and Almond Hot Chocolate:
Yes, we agree that hot chocolate is one of the most preferred drink in the winter season, but there’s only so much you can have. It’s the season of flavours so why not add them to your mug. Just substitute regular milk with almond milk and add a dash of maple syrup, the first sip is guaranteed to transport you to heaven.
Ginger Tea:
The simplest of the recipes that comes along with a health shot considering the numerous healing properties held by Ginger. All you need is some thinly sliced ginger and a cup of water. Boil it up and you are ready to enjoy this healthy beverage that’s sure to get you all cozy and warmed up. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to add honey to add that extra flavour.
Vanilla Chai Tea:
It’s the much needed twist to our cups of masala chai, already oozing with flavours of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger our chai’s can be more creative. To the ancient practiced concoction just add a bit of vanilla extract and feel your taste buds tingle with every sip.
Hot Toddies:
Toddies have always been considered as a winter classic probably because, it’s the simplest of the recipes. All you need is a shot of whiskey or brandy and pour hot water into it. Yes, it’s that simple although we can add our own twists depending upon our preference. You could choose flavoured syrups or even caramel to this beverage. It might sound weird but the drink isn’t super potent so you can avoid the guilt.
Mulled Wine:
One of the most loved beverages during the winter season, mulled wine is a crowd favourite and suits every palate. Made with red wine, preferably a Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is warmed up with mulling spices that range from cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, star anise and some fruit extracts to give that extra speck of flavour.
Irish Coffee:
When it comes to alcoholic beverages, I guess we all will agree that we cannot beat the Irish. One of the widely consumed hot irish beverages is the Irish coffee. A cocktail of coffee, Irish Whiskey, Sugar and topped with thick cream, is sure to get your spirits high this winter season.
