With Pride Month underway, here are brands that have proudly taken out rainbow-hued pride collections. Here is a look back at the Pride month.
The Pride Flag was originally designed by artist Gilbert Baker in 1979. Since then, the design has undergone many changes, including the addition and removal of colors. The most commonly used version includes six stripes: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet and has become an international symbol of pride. With the with pride month currently underway, several clothing and beauty brands have come out with limited-edition capsule collections that celebrate LGBTQIA+ community by incorporating the pride flag.
NIKE

Sports brand Nike partnered with the Gilbert Baker Estate and worked hand-in-hand to create this year’s 2019 BETRUE collection. The original eight colored flag is featured, with Nike supporting 20+ organizations through grants administered by the Charities Aid Foundation of America.

The extensive and varied collection features not just shoes, but also t-shirts, sweatshirts and more. The contributions support local and global partners It Gets Better Project and OUT MetroWest.
AMERICAN APPAREL

The capsule collection features a range of statement t-shirts that stick to American Apparel’s minimal aesthetic while still being colorful. The campaign’s message is “How We Love,” and 100 percent of the net proceeds from the collection go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
ASOS
ASOS has partnered with GLAAD, an American non-governmental media monitoring organization that works to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance and create meaningful change. 100% of net profits are donated to GLAAD.

Inspired by ‘70’s skate style, this collection includes ringer tees, Cut-Off Shorts, Trucker Jackets and vintage-cut socks, all with rainbow details. 100% of net proceeds go to OutRight Action International that works to advance human rights for LGBTQ+ people all over the world.

The collection, named Designed for Love, includes shoes, socks, t-shirts and more, with a portion of the proceeds going to Fenway Health. It is a Boston-based health center dedicated to the need of the LGBTQ community.
DKNY
This pride collection was created in partnership with the Hetrick-Martin Institute to celebrate Pride 2019. HMI provides empowerment, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ youth in the NYC area and beyond.
MARC JACOBS
Mark Jacobs Beauty’s limited-edition Enamored (with Pride) Dazzling Gloss comes in a rainbow pride-themed packaging. 10% of the retail price of each lip gloss sold between June 6, 2019 – July 10, 2019 will be donated to Sage (up to $75k), the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT elders.

With a unique rainbow sole, Hunter has come out with a limited-edition version of the best-selling 100% waterproof PLAY boot. They also feature the rainbow is integrated into the pull tab and Hunter logo running down the back of the boot. The brand is donating proceeds to six chosen charities – akt, The Outside Project, NAZ, MindOut, Mermaids and Trust Judy Blame.
