Piya Bajwa, Founder Nobility for Ability said “As a breast cancer survivor myself, I have been lucky to have the full support of my family and friends as I went through the treatment. Unfortunately, the stark reality is that not many women in India, who are faced with the reality of breast cancer, have that kind of support. The plight of women in rural India and marginal communities can only be guessed, considering women in urban India have to struggle with the physical and psychological trauma of breast cancer. We as a community need to stand together and help. It’s a small step – the Nobility for Ability Fund Raiser in the fight against breast cancer, and I hope and urge you all to come forward to support and make a positive difference to those in need.”
Aalok Bhan, Director & Chief Marketing Officer, Max Life Insurance shares, “Battling cancer of any kind requires financial strength besides courage and willpower. Though medical advancements have increased the chances of early detection and successful treatment, yet the treatment costs are expensive. Experience from a recent survey conducted in association with Kantar IMRB, shows that Indians are unaware of the costs of treatment for critical illnesses such as cancer and are underprepared to battle such a health crisis. In light of these facts, financial planning for cancer incidence is critical. We hope through our initiative at ‘Power of Pink’, we open doors to make a meaningful difference and prepare them for the uncertainties of life.”
According to Famous Cricketer and Founder McGrath Foundation Glenn McGrath, “I wanted to personally thank all of you for coming together to raise funds for such an important issue. With your help, we will be able to place more specialised McGrath Breast Care Nurses all across Australia. Together we can make a difference.”
On the occasion, Princess Diya Kumari expressed, “I am happy that the inaugural Fund Raising of Nobility For Ability is being organised in support of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation and the McGrath Foundation. These entities represent two very important issues in today’s society – empowering the woman in our communities, and the fight against breast cancer. In fact, they are very closely linked; empowering the woman with the education on early detection can go a long way to reduce the high mortality rate of breast cancer. Each one of us has a duty to protect our society, the foundation of which is the woman.”
“For a woman, fashion is the most intimate way of self-expression. I have curated this collection for the Breast Cancer Survivors and help them celebrate life”, adds Designer Charu Parashar.
