PEAKLIFE Women’s Inspire: Riddhima Arora and Mehar Sethi

Leading an all women design agency in Civil Lines, New Delhi, meet PEAKLIFE Women’s Inspire Riddhima Arora and her partner Mehar Sethi.

No matter what, you have to believe in yourself and uplift the women around you to face challenges together and face them gracefully.

Q1). Starting off, give us a little insight on Reesôme.

Reesôme is an all-women creative agency. We ideate, design and market ideas to build brands. We want to make a dent in the universe with our visual language coupled with story telling techniques.

Being an all-women workplace, Reesôme thrives as a small, close-knit community where all members of our team are encouraged to voice their opinions, acknowledge each other’s everyday struggles and lift each other up.

Q2). What kind of challenges do you face in this line?

Well, the constant challenge in this industry is to constantly create “out-of-the-box” solutions for our clients. This industry thrives on dynamisms, where every development needs to be matched with a totally new perspective and unconventional thinking. In a world of tight timelines, breaking the status quo in the space of customer-product relations can often get challenging.

As a woman entrepreneur, the challenge is to keep reminding yourself that you have to keep on going, the odds are going to be against you, there will be people questioning your decisions, you have to fight the stereotypes but also don’t make this the only purpose of your life. No matter what, you have to believe in yourself and uplift the women around you to face challenges together and face them gracefully.

Q3). Personally, what does this venture mean to you?

We co-founded Reesôme after leaving behind promising, well-paid jobs. While it took us a while to come up with a plan and come into our own, we are confident of where we stand today and where we ought to go which made us realize, we were just one decision away from an entirely new life.

In today’s world, women have replaced competition with collaboration.

Q4). What would be your definition of an empowered woman?

An empowered woman is someone who is not afraid to speak her mind and who is not afraid to take action towards her goals/vision. She is someone who takes concerted efforts to lift up women around her and allows them to “lean in”. One compliment, one small act of gratitude goes a long long way.

Q5). Lastly, any piece of advice for the modern woman entrepreneurs?

There is this dated notion that leading women in any industry has to be aggressively competing with each other to succeed in their space. However, in today’s world, women have replaced competition with collaboration. And we would want this ideology to flow down the generations.

But yes, let me say- Entrepreneurship is difficult, it’s a roller coaster ride – be it a woman or a man. We both have our own set of challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis. No two days are the same, there will be bad days, there will be days you’re not motivated but you have to get back up, dust it off and show up every single day.
