With the recent divorced announcement of Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos, the world’s richest couple, are splitting up, which has become the most expensive divorce in history. We all might be curious about the other expensive divorces here’s a list:
Jeff and MacKenzie Bezoz
Jeff and MacKenzie Bezoz recently announced about the split after 25 years of marriage. The total estimated amount is $ 137 billion, making it the most expensive divorce of all times as Bezos is the world’s richest man. MacKenzie married Jeff Bezos before he started Amazon and receiving this settlement, she will become the most richest women.
Alec and Jocelyn Wildenstein
Alec Wildenstein was a French businessman, art dealer, racehorse owner, and billionaire. He was married to Jocelyne Périsset in 1978 but divorced in 1999, at a cost of $2.5bn (£1.5bn). Alec was made to pay tens of millions of dollars, including $540,000 in back maintenance and $1m a month to run her household after a long court hearing.
Rupert Murdoch and Anna
Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corporation and 21st Century Fox, when separated from Anna Torv in 1999 after 31 years of marriage. The settlement ended with $1.7 billion, and stock in News Corp.
Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone
In 2008, when the 6’2″ former model Slavica Ecclestone filed for divorce from her diminutive husband Bernie, the Formula One car-racing tycoon, the family fortune was worth an estimated £2.4 billion. Slavica reportedly received £713 million (about $1.2 billion) in the divorce settlement.
Steve and Elaine Wynn
Casino industry bigwigs Steve and Elaine Wynn were married and divorced not once but twice, ending their marriages in 1986 and again in 2010. The exact terms of the splits haven’t been released, but it is believed her portion of the settlement was worth $1 billion. Later in an interview it was revealed that this was one of the most expensive of all time.
We can assume that the recent divorce announcement was a business decision, when compared to the older once.
