In collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, the special “Polish Gastronomy Week” at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi will behold a five-course unique menu prepared by winner of Masterchef – the Vietnamese-Polish Chef Ola Nguyen.
Born in Vietnam and raised in Poland, the chef launched her career after winning the 7th season of MasterChef Poland 2018. Now heading the Polish Gastronomy Week, her menu features traditional delights enhanced by Chef Ola’s own contemporary taste.
Beginning the meal will be two different soups – the Classic Beet Soup featuring soured milk, young beet stems, and thickened red beetroot juice seasoned with dill and chives, while the second is Zurek, a hearty sour soup consisting of fermented rye flour; eaten typically on Easter.
For the following courses, Pork Cutlet with Silesian Dumplings in Red Fruits and Rosemary Sauce, and Ruthenian Dumplings with Caramelized and Pickled Onion are renowned internationally.
For the sweet tooth Apple Pie with Vanilla Whipped Cream highlight the top Polish export products – crunchy apples and high-quality diary.
The menu is also served with a Dried Fruit Compote made from cooked ripe fruit including strawberries, raspberries and pears. The sweet drink is popular on national holidays and is widely available at school canteens, as well as the Polish cafeterias known as “milk bars.”
The “Polish Gastronomy Week” will commence from November 8th to 15th 2019.
