TAG Heuer and Manchester United unveil their first, official club Special Edition watches.
TAG Heuer has announced a range of partnership with various football players, teams and leagues, the link with Manchester United sits as one of TAG Heuer’s première global partnerships.
Showcasing their passion for the game and to manifest their partnership with the Manchester United, Tag Heuer launched two chronographs especially for the football lovers.
The iconic brand launched its ‘TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01’ and ‘TAG Heuer Formula 1’ with Jean-Claude Biver, TAG Heuer CEO and president of the LVMH watch division, and Richard Arnold, Manchester United Group managing director, as they graced a spangled gathering of brand supporters at the Club’s Old Trafford Megastore.
The two Special Edition watches bear the Manchester United colours, black and red.
The Carrera Heuer 01 is based on all-steel 45mm; the watch puts in the spotlight the bright red of Manchester United: club logo positioned at 9 o’clock, TAG Heuer’s shield on the bezel at 12 o’clock, hands of hours, minutes and central second of the chronograph, fitted with red alligator strap.
The another model is based on the 43mm Formula 1, this time with its steel case coated with titanium carbide to give the case a sporty and stealthy look. It is indeed one of the best value timepieces on the market with high quality finishes and functions honouring the Manchester United logo on the 1/10th second counter at six o’clock.
To add to the excitement, fans were greeted by club captain, Wayne Rooney, as well as first team players Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David De Gea and Ander Herrera, who made a surprise appearance at the store to present the watch collection to the waiting crowd. They amazed the public by participating in the sales of the first stamped Manchester United watches.
In the run up to the launch, fans were challenged to take part in the TAG Heuer & Manchester United Pressure Test challenge, competing against the clock in the ultimate quiz. The four most successful fans were invited to Old Trafford on the day of the launch to compete against the four first team players present in front of a crowd of 300.
