Loi Krathong Celebrations at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport

Radisson Blu Plaza, Delhi and Thailand Tourism of India joined together and hosted a celebratory evening marking Loi Krathong – Thailand’s very own Festival of Lights. Held every fall, Loi Krathong is a visually mesmerizing festival literally translated to “floating baskets”. Candle-lit banana leaf boats called krathongs are set out on the waters to symbolize letting go and “renewal”.

The grand evening was inaugurated by a stunning performance of dancers and musicians flown straight from Chiang Mai, then followed by a special Muay Thai, or Thai boxing performance. After galas of stunning stages, a decorated drum procession welcomed Miss Loi Krathong; carried on a palanquin to the poolside where she invited guests to participate in the krathong ceremony.

Guests were treated to a lavish Thai dining experience at the hotel’s award-winning Neung Roi, serving up authentic Thai dishes and a magical ambience to go with it.

Mr. Ashwani Goela, General Manager, Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport said “It gives us great joy to celebrate the Loi Krathong festival every year and give the people a chance to discover Thailand through Thai culture performances, Thai food with all its simplicity and panache. We would also like to thank our partner Tourism Authority of Thailand; Thai Airways for their support in making this a successful event.”

Commemorating the fun forward, Radisson Blu Plaza will be hosting the Loi Krathong Food Festival at Neung Roi, featuring a specially curated Thai menu for all guests and invites.
