They say variety is the spice of life, the statement holds true when it comes to the variety of street foods that are available in Gujarat. Ranging from crispy khakhras to the spongy Dhoklas, Gujarat will never disappoint.

Khakhra:
Khakhra is a thin cracker or a flattened poppadom, which is a Gujarati staple and is usually served as breakfast with a hot cup of tea. Each khakhra is individually handmade and roasted to give the extra crunch and flavour. These days you can find khakhras in a wide variety of flavours some of which are highly creative.
Fafda:
Another Gujarati staple, fafda is a crunchy snack predominantly made from gram flour and deep fried. Usually served with piping hot jalebi’s, fafda teases your taste buds with sweet and spicy flavours. On the streets fafda is also accompanied with fresh green chilli pickle adding to the mild flavours of the snack.
Dabeli:
Dabeli is one of the most popular street snacks of Gujarat, its origin can be traced back to the Kutch region of Gujarat. Dabeli is to Gujarat, what Vada Pav is to Maharashtra and is widely available at every nook and corner. Boiled potatoes mixed with special Dabeli masala are stuffed in a ladi pav or a burger bun and is served with chutneys made from garlic, tamarind and chillies.
Khandvi:
The yellow, tightly rolled bite sized pieces of steamed gram flour goodness. Yes we are talking about the heavenly street snack Khandvi. Widely available all across India now, the snack is popular for its flavouring of ginger, mustard seeds and the variety of garnishes that can be used. Khandvi usually garnished with juliennes of coconut, is now available with grated cheese, ketchup and various chutneys. This can be served both hot and cold.
Dhokla:
The 360 degree dish, Dhokla can be eaten as a snack, as a side dish and as a main course meal. The spongy dish made with gram flour has been wowing the Indian and International taste buds since ages. Variations include creative temperings and a wide variety of garnishes. Most common garnish are the sweetened boiled green chillies. The soft and supple texture will leave your mouth watering for more.
