The 11th edition of India Couture Week, ace designer Anju Modi showcased her latest collection- ‘A Maiden’s Prayer’ which was inspired by the vintage era.
India Couture Week conducted its 11th edition at Taj Palace last week. Renowned designer Anju Modi showcased her latest collection called “A Maiden’s Prayer” which is a historic like couture inspired by the vintage era and holds eminence pride with an attitude. RK Jewellers south Extension-II flattered the couture ensemble and started their journey at the Couture week by dazzling the stage with full opulence. Bollywood fashionista Kangana Ranaut graced the designer’s collection and dazzled in the exclusive jewels created by the RK jewellers South Extension-II in perfect symphony.
Talking about her collection, Anju Modi wished she lived in the Victorian Era. Being the main thought that got her started with this collection in the first place, the Victorian fashion heavily inspired her in more than one way; the symphony of exaggerated silhouettes with a copious amount of fabric, grandiose sleeves, fancy collars, and dramatic hairdos that were magnificently orchestrated for the graceful women. This season, many fashion designers are known to draw inspiration from classic literature and music, all thanks to their renowned fashion and aesthetically pleasing art and architecture. And even here in “A maiden’s prayer”, the designer took a melody from that symphony and transformed it into a prayer for the present-day woman.
Anju Modi also talked about her appreciation and admiration for Kangana Ranaut gracing the collection and said “A maiden’s prayer is a bountiful showcase of an enduring epoch. I feel Kangana added to the old-world charm of the era as she too has that enigmatic aura that catches the eye and holds the heart. The ostentatious vintage charisma is here to captive everyone with every detail of this range.”

The special jewelry collection was presented by the RK Jewelers for designers Anju Modi and was designed in line with the mood of her garments. The collection drew inspiration from the colonial era of the 18th century and achieving the right craftsmanship was of utmost importance for the designs to fully be able to reflect what it intended; and for this purpose, the specialist was flown from West Bengal to achieve the required level of precision. Featuring colorless fancy shape diamonds and precious gemstones including emeralds and rubies, the brand exhibited its exclusive repertoire in this much-awaited extravaganza.
