It was built at a reputed cost of $300 million by Paul Fireman, who believed that golf is a way of life. Located close to the remote village of Bo’ao, it features a wonderful coastal site where its boundaries are big, intricate greens that make the possibility of a nearby course hard to believe. Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, it is no doubt the most challenging design the duo ever made. Built around 2012, its membership initiation fee stands at more than $1 million and has only 20 members. The club was founded on 14 May 1754 and has evolved in all these years of Britain’s history. It features an iconic building that is situated behind the first course of the famed Old Course. Today, after all these years, it stands with a membership of 2500 golfers worldwide. It has been a part of some major golfing events and been through some changes with the government.
It is one of the most expensive golf clubs, with a membership initiation fee of $200,000.
8. Pine Valley, USA
With over seven decades, the club is known to provide one of the finest facilities to its members and guests. Its facilities not only involve golf events, but it also hold fine dining, tennis courts, pool facilities and lots more to make the members feel welcomed. Located in the heart of Wilmington, North Carolina, is this 18-hole private championship golf course that is committed to making some experiences count.
For all these experiences, the club charges a membership initiation fee of $500,000.
