- JustMyRoots is an Interstate Perishable Food Delivery. How did this concept come about?
Answer: The eureka moment was when Promita Sengupta, our Co-founder and Director, was meeting some of her friends and they were all talking about the nostalgia of getting anything from their home town / city or home. Being away from home always had that extra requirement of connecting back with the food that we grew up with. Justmyroots is a direct Hotline to the roots.
- As the delivery is interstate, how do you maintain the freshness of the food?
Answer: The food is stored at 5-8 degrees centigrade. With a State of the Art Packaging. The moisture in the food is kept intact; hence the food tastes absolutely fresh once heated. The entire logistics is managed through a cost efficient Cold Chain.
- How can the people access JustMyRoots? Is there an app for this?
Answer: People can access JustMyRoots through the online website register their details and select the dishes of their choice. Yes, JustMyRoots has an app you can download it from any Appstore on their mobile phones for their convenience.
- Besides delivering food interstate, is there anything more to avail through JustMyRoots?
Answer: Not immediately.
- Which locations are you catering to as of now?
Answer: Currently we have more than 10,000 customers and are delivering from cities namely Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. Currently food is being sent from Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, Lucknow and Jaipur be it home cooked meals to those in different parts of India or delivering to foodies who love eating food from different eateries. Till date we have done more than 100,000 deliveries and all of our orders have been fulfilled
- Do you think JustMyRoots could get lost in translation or be a benchmark in the online food delivery system?
Answer: Yes, we have created a niche where there are no players. In the food delivery service industry we provide something that the other food apps don’t, that is “Home Cooked Food” delivered smoothly across India by flight. We have an excellent rapport system with our customers where every order has been fulfilled and hence cannot get lost in translation.
- Lastly, what does JustMyRoots have in store for the future?
Answer: Right now we have more than 10,000 customers, delivering from 17 cities. By the end of 2019 we are planning to reach 32 cities in India and increase our customers to 100,000. Also we are targeting overseas. We are currently experimenting in China and are trying to reach Singapore and Hong Kong to cater to the Indian and Global diaspora. In the next 10 years we see ourselves be the single point of contact for food nostalgia among the migrant population of the world.
