Hublot announces its partnership with Ashes 2017-18

Hublot extends its partnership with the ICC, as it partners with Cricket Australia for the Ashes Series 2017-18

The Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot was the first luxury brand to partner with the International Cricket Council (ICC) as official timekeeper for the World cup in 2015. The brand has now extended this long-term partnership with the ICC on all events to 2020 (including ICC Champion’s Trophy and the Women’s World Cup, with both events taking place this year). As part of this collaboration with cricket, Hublot have also announced a partnership with Cricket Australia to take part into the Ashes Series 2017-18 (23 Nov – 8 Jan).

To celebrate this sport and the partnership, Hublot have created the Classic Fusion Chronograph “The Ashes”. This is a special limited-edition timepiece with just 32 pieces, that will be a prized possession for any cricket loving horology fan. Former Australian captain, Michael Clarke unveiled the new timepiece, along with discussing his formidable cricket career and involvement in The Ashes as a Commentator, over an exclusive event held at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground. Friends of the brand and media enjoyed an intimate lunch while previewing the timepiece within the iconic Members Pavilion.

Several subtle details give this limited-edition watch its unique character. The dial features a few distinctive symbols directly associated with cricket: the hands of the two counters in the shape of a bat and, at 12 o’clock, a triple applique referring to the stumps. The case-back bears the Ashes series logo on the sapphire glass. The ensemble is completed by a grey color dial and strap as a reference to the color of ashes. Finally, the calfskin strap is stitched with triple white saddle stitching in the style of a cricket ball. The Classic Fusion Chronograph “The Ashes” is limited to 32 pieces, referring to the number of series won by each team.
