Tropical hibiscus is the ultimate plant for creating a touch of the tropics. It forms huge blooms, up to 8 inches in diameter; the giant blooms are eye-catching and irresistible. Plus, hibiscus comes in a dizzying array of colors — from shades of red to pink to orange, yellow, white, and even blue.
‘Pilea peperomioides’, commonly known as the Chinese money plant, has such a distinctive look with its round coin-like leaves and straight stems – they look gorgeous in short pots. These hardy plants grow quickly with a once-a-week watering (depending on the temperature in your home) and will happily thrive in bright spaces but don’t require direct sunlight.
English Ivy reduces airborne fecal matter particles and has also been shown to filter out formaldehyde in household cleaning products. If you have a smoker in your home, then removing benzene from the air should be a top priority — and English Ivy is one of the best plants for removing it (and aiding in asthma).
This easy-to-grow succulent plant helps clear formaldehyde and benzene, which is found in chemical-based cleaners, paints and more. Beyond its air-cleaning abilities, the gel inside this medicinal plant helps heal cuts, burns, rashes and abrasions. It also contains potent antioxidants that act as a wonderful natural moisturizer: one teaspoon of aloe gel and one teaspoon of coconut oil make the perfect skin cream.
This plant will do great in a living room because you can admire its long leaves from afar and it doesn’t need a ton of care. Water it every two to three days and keep it out of indirect light like on the bookshelf.They’re effective at fighting pollutants including benzene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and xylene.
There are many types of jasmine. Many-flowered jasmine and Arabian jasmine are two of the easiest to grow; just give them plenty of light and moisture.
