A classic reinvented
The year was 1976, and Jack Heuer had designed a unique chronograph to celebrate Niki Lauda’s first world championship title with Ferrari. The novel offering enthralled connoisseurs and ushered in a brand new era in design. To mark the completion of four decades since the Heuer Monza was unveiled, the 2016 reissue was introduced to the immense delight of Tag Heuer patrons.
The new model features the watch’s two vital functions, the pulsometer and the tachymeter scale, with the original font intact. The celebrated original cousin case forms the design’s core and arrives in an all-black hue, with black and white lacquered hour and minute hands as on the original. Crafted from grade 5 titanium (previously steel), the case is now lighter and more shock resistant. The diameter has also been increased from the original 39 mm to 42 mm, for a more contemporary and masculine look.
An ode to the seas
Omega’s fascination with the deep mysteries of the sea go back a long way. The watchmaker par excellence has played a significant role in ocean exploration and vows to continue doing so. In a testimony to their love for the infinite expanse of blue and keeping in mind the needs of professional divers, the ace designers at Omega have come up with the Planet Ocean collection.
The exceptional variants available as part of this series include the Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm Chronograph, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 43.5mm Auto and the Seamaster Planet Ocean 43.50mm GMT- all of which come with distinct features and revolutionary technological enhancements.
