The Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) Watch Week 2022, which was held digitally from 24th January to 28th January 2022, showcased a curated selection of luxury timepieces that demonstrated startling advances in watch-making and the most current horological trends. The third edition of the global event highlighted technological prowess and aesthetic finesse in watch-making and introduced some stand-out watches from much-loved brands.
Hublot Big Bang Sang Bleu II
The perfect specimens of artistic grandeur and technical precision, these three limited edition watches mark the seventh year of the collaboration between famous tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi and the iconic Haute Horlogerie brand. Two iconic scratch-resistant materials born from the Hublot Art of Fusion—Magic Gold and ceramic—present the perfect canvas for the artist’s decisive geometric lines that create a three-dimensional effect. The material is polished, satin-finished, sliced, carved, bevelled and faceted, featuring alternating and superimposed hexagons, rhombuses and triangles in perfect visual harmony. The alternating designs are engraved on a 45 mm diameter case and bezel, while the hands assume the form of a geometrical tattoo extending to the watch strap. The skeleton dial and transparent caseback showcase the HUB1240 manufacture self-winding Unico chronograph movement. Unique aesthetics and expert engineering make this a truly irresistible timepiece – and elevate it to the status of a collector’s item.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200
This reincarnation of the Aquaracer Professional series is the perfect accessory for those who prefer functionality and a sleek aesthetic over flamboyance. A bold and stylish all-terrain luxury tool watch that continues a four-decade-long legacy, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 is available in a 40 mm or 30 mm stainless steel case. Each model features a uni-directional rotating bezel featuring 12 facets, sword-shaped hands, straight-edged hour markers, crisp white detailing, water resistance to 200 metres, and multiple movement options: automatic mechanical as well as quartz. The reverse of the watch is engraved with a compass, which is an elegant reference to the spirit of exploration and adventure. Robust yet sophisticated, this signature watch stays true to the brand’s classic sports watch design codes and still retains a contemporary relevance.
Zenith Defy 21 Chroma
An eye-catching combination of light, colour and speed, this timepiece is a chromatic expression of the high-frequency chronograph. The white ceramic case with a matte finish creates an elegant contrast against the gradient of rainbow colours refracted uniformly across the open dial and movement by a sapphire crystal within. The bright accents are also meticulously applied along the crown’s rubber grip ring, the stitching along the white rubber strap, and the chronograph counter hands. The ingenious 1/100th of a second chronograph movement is clearly visible – both beneath the dial and through the sapphire case back. A feat of precision and performance, this vibrant watch sparks joy and exemplifies the visionary reputation of the brand, which has been shaping the future of Swiss watchmaking since 1865.
