Gucci forays into the hospitality industry with the opening of its first restaurant at Florence in Italy. PEAKLIFE takes a look at what’s on offer.
Fashion house Gucci dunked into the culinary scene with the luxe Gucci Osteria, a green-walled, 50 seat restaurant, nestled inside the new Gucci Garden in Florence, Italy.
The eatery will be headed by chef Massimo Bottura, the man behind the three Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana, which was named the best restaurant in the world in 2016.
The menu of the restaurant will include iconic Italian dishes as well as conceptual twists on classics such as Parmigiano Reggiano tortellini and mushroom risotto.
The restaurant is sited behind the walls of the 14th century Palazzo della Mercanzia building, overlooking the city’s most famous square, Piazza Della Signoria.
The second highlight of the luxurious restaurant is the decor, divided into a series of themed rooms and is designed by Alessandro Michele, the Italian fashion designer who’s also the creative director of Gucci. The Gucci Garden Galleria narrates the House’s new vision while celebrating their one of a kind creation.
Gucci isn’t the first fashion brand to court the food world – Prada owns the Milan Patisserie, Marchesi.
