France, a land of unparalleled charm and timeless elegance, has served as the muse for countless filmmakers and storytellers throughout the ages. From the romantic allure of Paris to the picturesque countryside of Provence, each corner of this enchanting nation offers a tapestry of culture, history, and beauty waiting to be explored.
A recent study by the Basis Research Institute reveals that films and series set in France bolster the country’s cultural and touristic appeal, and nearly half of those who watch French content on Netflix develop a more positive perception of the country. In light of these findings, Netflix and Atout France have joined forces to enhance France’s allure. As part of their collaboration, they are launching the “There’s Always More to Imagine about France” campaign and a digital travel guide to explore France through Netflix productions. This partnership also introduces a new collection of tourist guides inspired by Netflix characters like Emily and Lupin. If you’re dreaming about your next vacation in France, here are some movies set in France that are worth your attention.
1. Emily in Paris
Emily in Paris follows the life of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), an American marketing professional who lands a job in Paris working for a boutique marketing agency. As well as becoming an Instagram sensation as she shares photos of her adventurous new life in Paris, we also see how she handles fitting into the French work culture, learning French, making new friends, and, of course, falling for a handsome French man!
