Taking inspiration from Favre-Leuba’s past and particularly the 1950’s and 60s, the Sky Chief Date creates the link between the prestigious past to a strong contemporary identity thanks to a minimalist and sleek yet distinct design. Its tetra decagonal bezel contributes to its technical character. The retro-futuristic round shaped case has the distinctive and graceful bridge that can be seen from the side view. After launching successfully, the new 40mm case in 2019, Favre-Leuba is now presenting three new models of the iconic Sky Chief Date in a 43mm size.
What makes it so special? Favre-Leuba is adding two new dial and bezel colors: dark spring green with a satin finish dial, same green surrounded by the refined 18-karat rose-gold bezel, and icy white dial. Favre- Leuba’s initial design brief was to step out of the traditional color palettes as Urs Gottscheu, Technology and Construction Engineer at Favre-Leuba, reveals: “We wanted to slightly move away from the previously restrained colors (black, dark blue, grey) and bring in a fresher look. A well combinable color, which works with a rose gold bezel but also as a standalone with a steel bezel. Wearable every day, not too flashy, but still strong in symbolism and for its wearer.”
