Louis Vuitton has premiered a built-in screen display handbag in its Cruise 2020 Collection
Nicolas Ghesquière, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, presented the Cruise 2020 Collection at the TWA Flight Center in New York, on the 8th of May. What really caught our eyes was the handbags in iconic LV monogram canvas with display screens.
There were two prototype handbags premiered during the runaway show, one with a single screen and another with two screens. Fusing cutting-edge technology with Maison’s signature savoir-faire, the new canvas displays moving images while taking the form of some of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags. The display is in 1,920 x 1,440 resolution and appears to display videos of city views & a demo of an internet browser.
The basis for this prototype was to express ‘Canvas of the Future’ and give an example of technology-fashion hybrid. The bag shows us that there is no extent that technology cannot cover and how oblivious it will be perceived in our day-to-day lives.
