The King of Instagram swung through Mumbai recently, hot on the heels of the launch of his baby, Alister, the subtly seductive brand that heralds a revolution of sorts in the men’s luxury grooming arena.
What does ‘active and adventurous’ mean to Dan?
It means living every day to its fullest and enjoying everything that life has to offer. No matter where I am in the world, I make it a priority to stay active – either I am working out in the gym or wakeboarding, hiking, anything. Every day is a new adventure.
What does ‘Art of Confidence’ mean to you?
Stop apologizing about everything, don’t try and fit into a politically correct box. These days people are scared all the time. Just do your own thing.
What is the coolest part about Alister?
All our products are infused with pheromones. I conceptualised Alister the day I went out shopping for new grooming products and realised that men simply need more. I found that there was a serious gap in the market for affordable, luxury products with clean ingredients. We want hassle-free, efficient, and durable products, which further led us to the concept of Pheroboost™. I think all men desire to be seen as confident and attractive individuals, but their efforts require direction. To me, it is best done naturally rather than artificially.
What is your take on the Indian male millennial?
The Indian male millennials are very much in tune with global trends and quite social media savvy. India as a market is very warm, welcoming, and receptive to new trends and international brands.
What has been your biggest learning so far?
I have learnt which products resonate with my following and what is important to them. They are a discerning audience and trust that when I promote something it is the best possible in that category.
You have it all. A 42 million following across all social media conduits. Millions in the bank. A maverick attitude to boot, and a gruff beard. What’s next?
My cannabis brand, Ignite, is really taking off and I am planning to continue expanding into additional markets. We just launched in the UK and are currently available in the US and Canada as well.
What’s the best part about being Dan Bilzerian?
I’m constantly surrounded by the most beautiful women and successful people. I can travel all over the world and enjoy the best of everything.
