CITIZEN CANE (1941)

This 1941 classic is considered as the greatest film ever to be made. The movie follows the death of publishing tycoon Charles Foster Kane, reporters scramble to uncover the meaning of his final utterance; ‘Rosebud’.

THE GODFATHER (1972)

This masterpiece talks of an aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.

The talks of the journey of T.E. Lawrence, the English officer who successfully united and led the diverse, often warring, Arab tribes during World War I in order to fight the Turks. Lawrence of Arabia is considered one of the greatest and influential films in the history of cinema.

A FEW GOOD MEN (1992)

Military lawyer Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee defends Marines accused of murder. They contend they were acting under orders. The main highlight of the classic movie is its monologue by Jack Nicholson at the climax.

BOLLYWOOD

ANGOOR (1982)

Based on Shakespeare’s ‘A Comedy of Errors’, this is a story of identical twins (2 pairs) and mistaken identities. The film observes the Aristotelian principle of unity of time—that is, that the events of a play should occur over 24 hours.

MAACHIS (1996)

A period political thriller, the movie is a realistic, hard-hitting portrayal of terrorism and youth in the Punjab after the 1984 riots. The film portrays the transformation of a youth from a boy next door to an angry person.

SATYA (1998)

This cult classic movie trails the journey of an innocent man and how he is embroiled in underworld after being falsely charged and sets out to punish the perpetrators who subjected his life to misery.

PYAASA (1957)

Pyaasa is a story of a struggling poet, trying to make his works known in post-independence India, and a woman with a heart of gold who eventually helps him get his poems published.

GUIDE (1965)

Often considered at one of the finest films of Indian cinema, Guide trails the story of an ex-tour guide mistaken to be a sage by some villagers, reflects on his past and lost love to search for spiritual wisdom to guide the villagers.
