Riding the franchise to another era, here are the top car picks from Fast and Furious’ new spinoff Hobbs and Shaw.
Fast and Furious- Hobbs & Shaw has hit the theatres, marking the premiere of yet another installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. It’s seems actually more of a spin-off, but you get the gist.
The movie channels characters Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Stetham) who, primarily, have been more of the background characters. But that got us thinking – would the movie be any less of jam-packed action and crazy rides behind landscapes to make us gasp? NO! NEVER!
Continuing the trend of ballistic car rides and features, here are some of the many notable cars that graced the silver screen with their first appearance in Hobbs & Shaw:
Bold and beautiful, the Aston Martin DB11 marks a new age history for Aston Martin being the first ever Aston model to get a turbocharger for its mill. The DB11 is powered by the brand new 5.2 litres turbocharged V12 petrol engine and is the first Aston to make the force induction route to performance. The low-slung structure and feline headlamps makes for the perfect sporty look.
You’ll find it worthy with 26 miles on this typical Ford design; tough, reliable and fun. The car is a 300 Strait 6 with 5 speed manual trans that’s never to let you down at your one-day trip rides. You’ll find Dwayne Johnson ironic brooding in this made-for-sports-and-adventure model.
A constant cameo in the Fast & Furious series, KrAZ 255 is one tough off-road truck. Engine is 14.86 litres diesel 8 cyl. with a top speed of 71 kmph! Its variants KrAZ 255V and 255L are sported just as much admiration as this 1977 production.
With the KTM 950 it’s more about listing why not to have a go at this borderline mad bike. It’s one for the reckless rides where the engine’s a 942cc, water cooled V-twin and power 95bhp @ 8,000 rpm. Fast and electric, the 950s are a biker’s dream with an upgraded brakes and suspension system.
The Range Rover, a soft-top station wagon, is an SUV available with automatic transmission. Depending upon the variant and fuel type, the Range Rover has a mileage of 7.8 to 13.33 kmpl and engine 2286 to 3865cc.
A sensational second-gen Supercar, the car features a new twin turbocharged, 4.0 litre V-8 engine mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Aluminum bodywork is “shrink-wrapped” around a carbon-fiber structure for a sculpted look and optimal aerodynamic efficiency. Its 245/35R-19 Pirelli tires with forged aluminum is a constant mention for reviewers.
The brand’s Transporter series is a 180PS twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers strong acceleration and relaxed cruising. This model also gives the choice of a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG twin-clutch automatic for seamlessly smooth gear changes. As expected of Volkswagen, the ride has one of the best residual values in its class.
