BMW has now its step in Indian premium motorcycle market with its new performance-oriented sports bike for a whopping sum of 85 lacs INR.
BMW’s limited edition HP4 1000 series has been launched in India for a sum of 85 lacs INR. The bike is BMW’s focused performance centric bike in production, it’s in limited edition and only 750 units worldwide will be made.
HP4 is an artist’s masterpiece which has been handcrafted by a special team in Berlin, Germany. The body frame and the wheel alloys are made of carbon fibre and it weighs 30kgs lighter than the traditional S 1000 RR. It offers eight-stage alteration for the foot pegs and a three-stage seat height alteration to suit the rider’s contour. It even gets a quick-release front wheel to enable quick wheel change.
The HP4 is powered by 999cc incline four engine, similar to the one in ss1000 RR, but this mean machine has a lot to give out with 215bhp and 120Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a reverse-pattern six-speed transmission with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The suspension system consists of fully-adjustable FGR300 forks up front and a TTX 36 GP mono-shock at the reat, both sourced from Ohlin’s. A race-spec Ohlin’s steering damper is also normal. Braking is taken care of Brembo units. Electronics includes 15-level traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, launch control and even a pit lane speed limiter.
Related to its rival, the Kawasaki Ninja H2R, it does grasp a hefty premium. Notwithstanding the Kawasaki had a really progressive supercharged engine, it costs Rs 15.2 lakh less because its groundworks aren’t as exotic as this German track tamer.
