Meditation can be of great help for stress relief. One can easily meditate at any point of time by closing their eyes, relaxing their muscles and focusing on any one thing, or an object (wall painting or a flower); perhaps imagine themselves sitting on a beach. Taking deep breaths try and concentrate without getting distracted for 10-15 minutes. The key here is to remain focused and let loose your body and mind.

These foods can have a soothing effect by aiding an increase in the serotonin levels. Serotonin is a brain chemical responsible for inducing feelings of calmness and relaxation. So enjoy these treats if they provide instant satisfaction, but do keep a count of your calories, as along with being mood-enhancers these sweet treats can also cause a sharp rise in body fat.

Music has long been considered a great stress reliever.It’s a well-established fact that music therapy is beneficial in combating depression.A good, uplifting tune can come in handy when you’re getting ready for a tough day at office, or are struck in the traffic, or lying in your bed after a stressful day. Listening to music during working hours has proved to be helpful in reducing the heart rate and blood pressure amongst most individuals, while also curbing anxiety.
A good snooze not to lose
Sleep because at least for some time during your day you need to forget your problems and relax. Sleeping is important for better digestion of food and helps maintain emotional balance of the body. A good dose of deep sleep also helps in augmenting positive moods, while contributing majorly towards maintaining a pleasant nature. Sleeping more could also harm us indirectly by making us indolent. The important thing is to make sure you’re not only getting enough sleep, but that the quality of sleep you’re getting is restful and restorative.
Hit the road
Plan a vacation once in a while and go on a freewheeling trip. Getting away from the routine schedule will help you revitalize. If nothing fancy or even long, a quiet weekend at a picturesque resort in the countrysides enough to renew you. A weekend gathering at a friend’s farmhouse or simply a long drive to the wilder side are great ideas too if you want to keep things simple and inexpensive.
