The travel ban imposed has now been lifted (yay) and with safety on priority, Sri Lanka is ready to welcome you to its green & blue environment
A travel restriction was imposed, immediately after April 21, on tourists following the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in which around 250 lives were gone and few hundreds were injured. Now that the travel ban has been lifted and tourism has started, here are a few activities you can get back to in Sri Lanka. From walking the streets, immersing oneself in its rich historical beauty or enjoying one of its nightlife hotspots, to a safari through the beautiful wildlife parks, here guests will find the perfect agenda for one’s visit.
Sunset Colombo City Walks
The two-hour walking tour includes visits to prominent historical spots as well as the most hidden gems of Colombo. See colonial landmarks such as the Old Colombo Lighthouse among other grand buildings against the stunning hues of the setting sun. The tour leaders are enthusiastic and passionate about telling Colombo’s story, thereby making the city walks a memorable and inspiring experience for all.
Dine at a DIY Hot Lava Rock Restaurant
Rock Salt, the signature restaurant of Cinnamon Bey Beruwala is Sri Lanka’s first eatery to offer hot lava rock cuisine wherein the meal is a toast to the coast with spectacular sea views. With an open show kitchen, guests have the freedom to don the chef’s hat and prepare their own meals with the best of ingredients and fresh produce of the island. With a trained chef for assistance, diners are presented with a variety of marinades, spices, oils, meat, seafood and greens to try out different combinations and sizzle-them to perfection with their very own red-hot lava stone.

A Gateway to the Wild
Hambantota is located in close proximity to some of Sri Lanka’s finest National Parks. Yala National Park is a regular fixture on travel bucket lists, for having the world’s highest density of leopards. Yala is home to a variety of other animals including elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, many bird species and more. Another popular National Park is Udawalawe, famous for travellers to spot elephants in large numbers as they come within close proximity during a safari tour. It is also home to various endemic bird species.
